OVERDOSE® trasforma la forma universale della compressa in un reperto del presente. Realizzata in marmo statuario e resine colorate, l'opera unisce un materiale simbolo di eternità ai segni della cultura contemporanea, mettendo in dialogo la memoria della scultura classica con il linguaggio del consumo globale.
La pillola diventa metafora delle dipendenze del nostro tempo: non soltanto da sostanze, ma anche da immagini, tecnologia, denaro, consenso, informazione e identità digitali. Ogni epoca produce le proprie forme di assuefazione, spesso invisibili perché condivise.
Il marmo rende permanente ciò che normalmente è effimero, trasformando un oggetto di uso quotidiano in una domanda. OVERDOSE non giudica e non offre risposte: invita a riflettere su ciò che scegliamo di assumere ogni giorno e sul confine, spesso sottile, tra bisogno e dipendenza.
OVERDOSE® transforms the universal form of the pill into an artifact of the present. Crafted from Statuario Carrara marble and colored resins, the work brings together a material that symbolizes permanence with the visual language of contemporary culture, creating a dialogue between the legacy of classical sculpture and the dynamics of global consumerism.
The pill becomes a metaphor for the addictions of our time: not only to substances, but also to images, technology, money, social approval, information, and digital identities. Every era produces its own forms of dependency, often invisible precisely because they are collectively accepted.
Marble gives permanence to what is normally ephemeral, turning an everyday object into a question. OVERDOSE neither judges nor offers answers; instead, it invites viewers to reflect on what they choose to consume each day and on the often subtle boundary between need and addiction.
