Roncatti M. Born in Florence in 1986. Graduated from the Porta Romana Art Institute (2007), obtained a scholarship for an artistic residency in New York (2008, Art Student League; National Academy). After returning to Italy, he enrolled at the Carrara Academy of Fine Arts (2011). The encounter with marble is fundamental in his artistic career, guaranteeing him that formal freedom and sign synthesis that today represent his most recognizable signature. The new artistic line reaps immediate successes: we recall Contemporary Art in San Donato, Palazzo Malaspina in San Donato in Poggio (Fi); the sculpture symposiums in Palombara Sabina (Rome, 2012) and in Warsaw (2013); the place of honor at the Sculpture to Live Award, Peano Foundation (Cuneo, 2012); participation in Firenze Fiera in Fortezza da Basso and in the famous Marble Week in Carrara (2012-13). In the meantime, interest in a closer relationship between art and society on the one hand is growing; and between sculpture and sensory perception of reality on the other. Since 2014 the collaborations with the composer Giacomo Gianetta for whom he creates functioning instruments entirely of marble (used in the concerts of Genoa and Berlin); and the presence in the La Verde Armonia project in the noble estate of Ghizzano (PI). In 2015 the invitation, curated by Vincenzo Trione, director of the Italian Pavilion at the LVI Venice Biennale to the artistic workshop organized during the lagoon exhibition. In 2016 he created his first solo exhibition in Carrara during the city event "Parkour" the art in movement which he entitled "Connessioni Interrotte"; at the same time he exhibited two other personal exhibitions in Arezzo in the secret gallery of the Luciferi laboratories and in Montelupo Fiorentino in the prestigious Banca di Cambiano. He then participated in a collective exhibition at the Palazzo del Senato in Milan by the Arte Italia Cultura association. In 2017 he graduated with honors from the Academy of Fine Arts in Carrara. They write about him in two art magazines, a national one, "Rivista 20" and an international one, "Lazagne art magazine". He exhibited at the Visual Arts Training Center in Cecina, outside the Soncino Biennale and made his first public intervention on the Ex Stianti area in San Casciano Val di Pesa, during the artistic event "Pianeta Gaia", where he created the installation " N.1548 M.1600 INFINITE WORLDS". In 2019 he exhibited a personal exhibition hosted by C2 Contemporanea in Florence entitled "Electromateria". In 2020 he participates in Cosplay an initiative by the critic Francesco Mutti at the contemporary art gallery Il Triangolo in Cremona. He lives and works between Florence Vinci and Carrara.
